Title: Cost Engineer

Job Summary:
PIC Group is in need of an experienced Cost Engineer to work for one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies for a terminal modernization project.
The Cost Engineer will report to the Project Manager preparing cost reports, attend project meetings, review tasks, budgets, and forecast information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor project budgets for the Terminal Modernization Program.
• Review and analyze contractor and sub-contractor invoices.
Prepares job costing reports to
• allocate these expenditures against the appropriate WBS numbers.
Ensure that both
• commitments and expenditures follow the same allocation methodology.
• Enter data into the Program Management Information System (PMIS) for cost related
• business processes.
• Perform cost-to-complete analysis for all cost elements within a project taking into
• consideration staffing plans, contract commitments, and expenditures to date, change
• orders and trends.
• Attend project meetings to provide Project Management with current financial information
• and trend log regarding potential impacts to project budget or forecast.
• Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
Develop creative
• reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments.
• Review task orders for contractors and sub-consultants to ensure necessary budget and/or
• contract capacity exists.
• Analyze bid award values against current budget and prepare reconciliations to include in
• the current forecast at completion.
• Analyze change order values against current budget and prepare reconciliations to include
• in the current forecast at completion.
• Prepare data to support documentation required for budget transfers and payment
• validation.
• Produce cost-related reports showing key performance indicators (KPIs) from the PMIS.
Job Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience managing and reporting the cost components of large-scale,
• complex projects; including developing and managing a progress reporting methodology for
• a complicated multi-phased construction effort.
• Ability to address the full life cycle of Cost Engineering/Forecasting
• Experience in forensic claims work on major construction project.
• Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program and the
• ability to communicate progress to both technical- and management-level personnel.
• Ability to work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.
• Thorough familiarity with MS office suite software - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and
• Outlook, (proficient in Excel)

• Office and site environments with travel as required.

)
Education / Experience:
• 5+ yrs field cost engineering experience with minimum 3 yrs in direct support of an active construction project.
• Experience with Design-Build delivery method is desirable.
• Experience with PMWeb (PMIS) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Primavera, (P6) is a plus.
