Job Description
Olsson is seeking a highly skilled NDT Professional to oversee our Radiation Safety Program while contributing technical expertise to our NDT team.
This dual-faceted role is instrumental in ensuring regulatory compliance, managing radioactive sources safely, and supporting our Local Radiation Safety Officers (LRSOs) to uphold the highest standards of safety and security.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in integrating NDT services with Olsson's wide range of engineering solutions, enhancing our ability to serve clients effectively and safely.
Radiation Safety Program:
Develop and maintain the Radiation Protection Program Operation's Manual.
Manage the source transfer processes and maintain documentation within the National Source Tracking System (NSTS).
Conduct comprehensive annual audits and safety program assessments.
Audit the commitment of our teams to maintaining safety standards, conducting training, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, and securing our operations.
Collaborate with LRSOs on site audits, ensuring strict compliance with access, security, and transportation regulations.
Complete Trustworthy and Reliable (T&R) assessments and oversee annual maintenance on exposure devices.
Act as a key support figure for NDT teams, offering guidance and attending external regulatory audits as needed.
Vigilantly report any security breaches, including attempts at diversion, sabotage, or theft.
NDT Team Contributions:
Specialized Inspections: Lead and participate in specialized inspection programs requiring senior-level oversight.
Develop and expand inspection services, balancing project management and hands-on inspection roles.
Expertise Utilization and Training: Provide expertise-based training and consulting services, capitalizing on personal certifications and industry reputation.
Project Management and Strategic Involvement: Oversee select projects aligning with personal expertise and client requirements, with a focus on strategic, high-value engagements.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of any Olsson office location, or fully remote.

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nondestructive Testing Technology or related field.
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of related experience.
Training on establishing and maintaining a Radiation Protection Program, including 40-hour radiation safety training.
Certification in Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) or equivalent state agency certification in gamma and X-ray.
Completion of hazardous materials (hazmat) training.
Radiographic Testing (RT) Level II or III certification, with at least 4,000 hours of RT experience.
Demonstrated commitment to ethical practices and continuous learning.
