Middleware Engineer

Concentric Corporation is currently seeking a talented Middleware Engineer for our client in the Omaha area! As a Middleware Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing our middleware platform and driving the delivery of scalable, global API solutions.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust middleware configurations and integrations.
Your expertise in middleware technologies and innovative problem-solving will contribute to the success of our projects and the efficiency of our operations.
Responsibilities: Provide administrative support for the middleware platform, including maintaining service catalogs and configurations.
Collaborate with senior middleware team members and project teams to design scalable API solutions aligned with business objectives.
Develop and maintain middleware configurations in collaboration with developers and architects.
Identify and implement innovative technologies to enhance existing middleware infrastructure.
Coordinate with vendors and support teams to resolve issues, address design challenges, and perform upgrades.
Conduct troubleshooting, incident response, and patching activities promptly to ensure system reliability.
Design and develop integrations and APIs using middleware platforms such as AnyPoint Platform.
Partner with Quality Assurance and Release Management teams for testing and deployment activities.
Maintain documentation including system configurations, processes, and service records.
Perform performance monitoring and tuning of middleware platforms.
Automate manual tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Research and address data-related queries arising from platform usage.
Participate in project planning activities, providing estimates and decomposing work into manageable tasks.
Prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Provide knowledge transfer and support to peers, QA, and support teams for incident resolution and compliance with standards.
Participate in on-call rotation for support and incident management.
Research and apply vulnerability remediation measures.
Provide technical leadership to project teams, ensuring alignment with architectural guidelines and quality standards.
Communicate concepts and guidelines effectively to development teams to maintain consistency in designs.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Proven experience in middleware platform management and API solution design.
Proficiency in middleware technologies such as AnyPoint Platform, IBM WebSphere, or similar.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Familiarity with security, compliance, and performance standards.
Prior experience in technical leadership roles is a plus.
