Job Title Mainframe Operator What does a great Mainframe Operator do? We are seeking a Computer Operator to provide first level support in a 24x7x365 environment, for Data Center client processing.
This is a Global Command Center environment with functions to include but not limited to file transmission monitoring, Batch processing, Mainframe monitoring, helpdesk functions and client calls.
The candidate will learn how to identify issues that may impact customers by proactively monitoring.
You will take action to ensure the system is at the highest level of performance.
Possesses excellent knowledge of specific functions or tasks they support.
Responsible for monitoring systems, batch, applications, networks, performing scheduled tasks, first level incident diagnosis, resolution and escalation.
Ensure system availability, and timely completion of batch and scheduled tasks.
Identify incidents affecting clients and resolving directly or working with support teams to resolve situation quickly with high quality of service.
You will be working in a high pressure, dynamic, and fast paced environment.
Responsibilities: Recognizing, troubleshooting, escalating, documenting, and resolving all Incidents on shift.
Monitoring all systems via consoles, emails, and event managers.
Performing System Operation activities such as responding to messages, displaying queues, determining status, canceling or purging tasks.
Running all Job Scheduler activities as needed (e.
g.
daily, weekly, monthly, on-request schedules, etc.
) Completing basic problem determinations, (i.
e.
identifies specific error type, documents as needed, and follows appropriate procedures.
) Recovering and restart jobs terminated by hardware or software failures as directed.
Ensuring all scheduled tasks for shift are completed accurately and on time.
Requiring good social and communication skills, including the ability to provide ongoing end user training and be an excellent teammate.
Interacting with external and internal client’s data gathering and design initiation.
Learning new technologies and apply them to technical and business problems Juggling multiple priorities and serve many constituencies.
Applying customer service and phone etiquette skills and understanding of a multi-line phone system.
Accurately gathering, analyzing and interpreting data, defining problems, and making recommendations for resolution.
Providing first level support to clients and is able to research and analyze problems.
Diagnosing and problem solving using documented procedures and checklists.
Problem handling recognition, research, isolation and resolution steps.

What you will need to have: High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience in applicable field.
2+ years of experience in Computer Operations or Information Technology Analyst Operations.
2+ years of experience with batch job scheduler JCL, CA7, Control-M, IBM Mainframe Consoles Experience in batch job processing, batch abend troubleshooting and batch job restart processes.
Experience with large mainframe IBM environments Experience working with TSO, ISFP, CAVIEW, SYSVIEW and IOF Experience with ITIL ticket systems; BMC Remedy experience and/or Service Now File Transmission protocols Connect Direct (NDM) and Sterling File Gateway Experience with Windows OS, MS Office, EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook.
Working knowledge of Credit and Debit transaction processing Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience writing documentation and procedures.
Nice to have: Experience with enterprise job scheduling solutions (preferably ESP/Control-M/AppWorx) Experience with Moogsoft Experience working with Communication/Data within any of these transfer protocols (IP, TCP, HDCP, HTTP, FTP, Telnet, SSH, POP3, SMTP, IMAP, Informix, NDM & Cyberfusion) ITIL Service Management Tools such as: Remedy9 / Service Now, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Configuration Management , Service Level Management/SLAs) Related industry experience in Banking or Financial Services Industry.
Experience with Windows 2008 Server, IIS and SQL administration.
Typing 40 words per minute.
Shift Details: Days of operations: Rotating three- and four-day work weeks (7AM to 7PM ET) This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
