Architectural Wall Systems (AWS), a specialty contractor that provides state-of-the-art exterior envelopes for commercial construction projects, has an opening for an individual who is passionate about construction, highly adaptable, and hungry to learn.
The *Project Engineer* provides project management and support in project planning, material tracking, and distribution of information required to construct the project on time, within budget, and to AWS quality standards.
*WHAT YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:*
* Analyze and understand plans and specifications for each project.
* Assist and support the Project Manager and Jobsite Superintendent through daily coordination and communication.
* Inspect work to ensure it is safe, follows plan designs and is AWS quality work.
* Prepare, distribute, and monitor job specific documentation including, but not limited to, RFI’s, monthly status reports, change orders, submittals, and closeout documents.
* Track Requests for Proposal (RFP’s) and help summarize the results.
* Uphold safety standards and require fellow team members to do the same.
* A thorough understanding of your project or projects.
This should include the contract drawings and specifications.
A full sense of project sequence and scope of work.
* Ask questions.
When in doubt ask questions to both the Project Manager and Job Superintendent.
No one person knows everything and completing a project is always a team effort.
*WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:*
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering; or years of equivalent experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (outlook, word, excel, MS Project, power point etc.
).
* Must be familiar with estimating concepts and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
* Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
* Self-motivated team player with mechanical aptitude.
* Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas both verbally and in written communication.
