Web Developer

Great Plains Communications is growing! We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented person to fill the position of Web Developer.
The individual hired for this position must be located in Nebraska, Iowa, Indiana or Colorado and limited travel to Nebraska is required.
This position will collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other team members to deliver high-quality web applications.
Will develop and maintain web applications, including custom WordPress plugin development, front-end and back-end integration.
Will ensure a seamless Salesforce Digital Experience integration.
Job duties: ¨ Demonstrates proficiency in writing, translating, and coding software programs and applications, ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry best practices.
¨ Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications, fostering clarity and alignment throughout the development process.
¨ Takes ownership of the stability and functionality of deployed applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure seamless user experiences.
¨ Upholds the highest standards of security and integrity in system architecture and implementation, following industry protocols and best practices to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate risks.
¨ Writes, tests, and maintains clean, reusable, and modular code, promoting code quality, readability, and maintainability throughout the software lifecycle.
¨ Implements UI/UX principles using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create engaging, intuitive, and responsive user interfaces.
¨ Integrates back-end services with PHP for server-side scripting and MySQL/PostgreSQL databases to ensure data integrity and efficient data management.
¨ Utilizes APIs for seamless integration with third-party services, enhancing the functionality and capabilities of web applications.
¨ Maintains knowledge of OAuth and other authentication mechanisms for secure integration between Salesforce and external systems.
¨ Maintains comprehensive documentation for system architectures and workflows using tools like Markdown or Confluence, facilitating seamless collaboration and understanding among team members.
¨ Conducts rigorous performance testing and optimization exercises to enhance the speed, responsiveness, and efficiency of web applications, ensuring optimal user experiences across diverse platforms and devices.
¨ Stays vigilant and proactive in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities by regularly updating applications with the latest patches, fixes, and security updates, minimizing the risk of potential cyber threats and data breaches.
¨ Implements robust security protocols and data protection measures to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, fostering trust and confidence among users and stakeholders.
¨ Ensures adherence to security compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS or similar, as applicable, in the design and development of web applications, maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of user data and sensitive information.
¨ Participates in the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) process.
¨ Utilizes the development platforms to deliver solutions.
¨ Consistently writes, translates, and codes software programs and applications according to specifications.
¨ Runs and monitors software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
¨ Liaises with network administrators, systems analysts, and software engineers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
¨ Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and overall documentation for solutions.
¨ Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, computer information systems, telecommunications, or similar technical degree.
Completed technical training and certifications that are relevant and appropriate for prior IT work experience and responsibilities.
